Position Title : Water Meter Disconnector

Job Summary :

To conduct the regular disconnection of water meters of delinquent accounts. Ensures that submitted reports are accurate and complete. Immediately report to site engineer in-charge the tampered or illegally tapped water meters and other field observations for proper documentation and charging.

Key Functions / Duties and Responsibilities :

A. SERVICE DISCONNECTION / RECONNECTION :

1. Disconnect water supply by using cable seal, magnetic cap or total removal of water meter for all delinquent customers, based on the list provided by the assigned Billing & Collection Assistant.

2. Read and record water meter data during disconnection such as the last reading, meter number, including the time of disconnection and cable seal used.

3. Take pictures of the disconnected meter (with date and time) as evidence / proof for submission to Billing and Collection Assistant.

4. Ensure all tools and equipment of the assigned utility vehicle are maintained and stored securely.

B. REPORTING :

1. Submit the Disconnection Report within the day to the assigned Billing and Collection Assistant / Head Office for proper recording into the system and monitoring purposes.

2. Submit the report on the Reconnected Accounts containing the latest meter reading, date and time of reconnection.

3. Submit an incident report to the site engineer for the tampered / illegally tapped / broken water meters and leaks for proper documentation and charging.

C. OTHER FUNCTIONS :

1. Assist the WDOs in the reconnection of water meter after full payment of outstanding balances and other charges.

2. Assist in manual OR issuance, prepare OR Receiving Copy, OR and water bill / NOD distribution, meter reading and leak repair.

3. Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
