JOB SUMMARY :
The Accounting Supervisor – Accounts Receivable is responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s accounts receivable operations to ensure timely and accurate billing, collection, and recording of customer payments. This role supervises the AR team, enforces internal controls, monitors customer accounts and credit limits, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The position also supports financial reporting, forecasting, and continuous process improvement to maintain a healthy cash flow and minimize bad debts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Accounts Receivable Management
Supervise the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, account reconciliations, and posting of payments.
Review and approve sales orders, ensuring proper credit terms, customer information, and compliance with internal policies.
Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and adherence to credit terms.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, billing issues, and customer disputes in coordination with the Sales and Operations teams.
Track aging of receivables and prepare periodic AR reports highlighting collection performance and overdue accounts.
Credit and Collections
Recommend and implement credit limits and payment terms for new and existing customers based on risk assessment and payment history.
Oversee follow-ups on delinquent accounts and handle escalations related to overdue payments, bounced checks, or collection disputes.
Coordinate with Sales Agents and Account Managers on collection activities and customer account issues.
Develop and recommend strategies to improve collection efficiency and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
Financial Control and Reporting
Ensure accuracy and completeness of AR records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Prepare AR-related schedules, reports, and analyses for monthly closings and management review.
Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and audit activities by providing accurate AR data and documentation.
Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity.
Team Leadership and Process Improvement
Supervise, coach, and develop accounting associates responsible for AR, billing, and collection activities.
Implement process improvements to streamline AR operations, enhance reporting accuracy, and strengthen credit control.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous professional development within the accounting department.
Other Responsibilities
Perform other related duties and special projects as may be assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration required.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in accounts receivable or credit and collection supervision.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Proficient in accounting systems and MS Office applications (especially Excel).
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
