Job Description
This is a remote position.
Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 30 AM–5 : 00 PM (Auckland, New Zealand Time)
Break : 30 minutes unpaid
Total Weekly Hours : 40 Hours
Join the team as a Quantity Surveyor , responsible for overseeing the financial management of construction and engineering projects from start to finish. You’ll ensure accurate cost planning, forecasting, budgeting, and commercial oversight while working closely with project managers, procurement, and finance teams.
Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for active and upcoming projects.
Track and manage project costs, expenditures, and accruals regularly.
Review and validate contractor and supplier quotations, variations, and claims.
Prepare cost reports and cash flow projections for management.
Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to improve efficiency.
Maintain accurate project financial records and documentation.
Support procurement with BOQ preparation and bid evaluations.
Provide commercial insights to ensure projects remain within budget.
Assist with contract administration and ensure compliance with financial controls.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
3–5 years of relevant experience in cost management or quantity surveying.
Strong understanding of cost control, accruals, and budgeting.
Proficiency in QS software (CostX, Candy, or similar) and MS Excel.
Knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, or similar) is an advantage.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, negotiation, and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once.
