Responsible for food preparation, production, and packaging, while maintaining strict cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards. Include assisting senior cooks, managing inventory, operating kitchen equipment, and ensuring that food is prepared and distributed consistently and to high quality standards.
Food preparation and production
Prepare ingredients, which may include washing, chopping, and slicing.
Follow standardized recipes to cook and assemble dishes.
Assist in the production and packaging of food items for distribution to other outlets.
Monitor and manage stock, ensuring proper rotation and labeling.
Maintaining standards and cleanliness
Uphold food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses.
Keep the kitchen, including work areas and equipment, clean and organized.
Ensure equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
Comply with all health and safety regulations.
Operations and support
Follow instructions from chefs and supervisors.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Conduct inventory checks, report shortages, and help with ordering supplies.
Assist with dishwashing and general clean-up during and after service.
Contribute to quality control by ensuring consistency in the final product.
