We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our pre-construction team. This is a hands-on, learning-rich role. You will work directly alongside our Cost Planner and Construction Manager on some of Sydney’s most prestigious residential projects. You will be involved from first enquiry through to tender submission, and you will gain exposure to contract administration and project delivery as part of your development pathway.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to:
- Master estimating and cost planning on complex, high-end builds.
- Understand luxury construction methods, materials, and supplier networks.
- Progress into a Cost Planner role with a clear, supported pathway.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural drawings and relevant documents.
- Strong experience using Cubit Estimating software for digital take-oƯs.
- Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) including, but not limited to, concrete, structural works, and interior finishes.
- Maintain and update estimating databases.
- Assist the cost planner in compiling tender cost plans
- Source, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Maintain and update estimating databases using industry-leading software.
- Assist in budget optimization.
- Support contract administration functions as part of integrated project training.
Requirements
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential estimating / contracts administration.
- Proficiency in Cubit, or similar estimating software (training available for strong Excel users).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
