Job Description

The Engineer 1 Electrical is responsible for maintaining the plant's electrical system and its auxiliaries to its Optimum Operating Capacity by performing Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities and other programs as part of the quality management system to ensure reliable, maximum efficiency, and safe operation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities on plant electrical systems, process controllers, and electrical equipment, ensuring the efficient running and prolonged service life of the machines and equipment.

2. Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

3. Diagnose malfunctioning equipment and systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

4. Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

5. Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

6. Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as mega-ohmmeters, voltmeters/clamp meter testers to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.

7. Assists in the supervision of contractors in the performance of electrical contracted works, ensuring quality workmanship and specification.

8. Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and the Philippine Electrical Code.

9. Directs and trains workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

10. Prepares wiring diagram and cost estimate for any improvements pertaining to the Electrical system and components

11. Installs ground leads and connects power cables to equipment, such as motors and other equipment.

12. Performs business management duties such as maintaining records and files, and preparing data regarding Feedmill energy consumption.

13. Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.

14. Provides assistance during emergency calls, day or night, requiring expertise during trouble.

15. Compliance with 5'S activities, ISO 9001:2008 & HACCP.

16. Recommends and suggests improvements to “KAIZEN” as part of the Department's Quality improvement activities.

Safety Management

1. Monitors plant electrical load and power factor and ensures that plant electrical usage does not exceed the maximum load threshold.

Equipment Safety

1. Conducts routine inspection of electrical equipment in operation, checks equipment operating parameters as prescribed, and initiates corrective measures for any abnormality.

Troubleshooting

1. Conducts problem-solving activities on causes and corrective measures for electrical-electronics variances. Solicits the advice of the Maintenance Supervisor for problems that remain unsolved.

SAP Support and Troubleshooting

• Ensure the accurate and real-time execution of tasks related to the process/es they are responsible for, including the recording of information and report generation in the designated forms and platforms (e.g. SAP).

• Integrate with other parties/ functions whose processes are interfaced with their processes (to enable alignment, efficient flow of the process, and effective implementation of controls).

Food Safety:

1. Complies with quality, Halal, health, and food safety policy, standards, and regulations of the company.

2. Responsible for reporting problems related to Halal, food safety & quality management systems to identified authorities.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management, etc.

2. Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by the Team Leader.

Qualifications

Education:

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a Graduate of Industrial Electrical Technology

Experience:

• Preferably but not required for Electrical Engineer

• With at least one year of work experience in Industrial Electrical maintenance for non-engineering graduate.

Licenses:

• Registered Electrical Engineer &/or Registered Master Electrician (licensed)

Other Requirements:

• Working knowledge of instrumentation technology; electrical/electronics circuit design, troubleshooting, and repair; and pneumatics and electro-pneumatic control system troubleshooting

• Knowledge and understanding of plant technology

• Familiarity with PLC and other electronic device analysis and troubleshooting

• Ability to interpret working drawing plans
