Supervision of Daily Operations : Oversee the teller line and customer service area, ensuring all transactions are processed efficiently, accurately, and securely.
Risk and Control : Monitor and maintain internal controls, ensuring strict adherence to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AML / KYC).
Audit Readiness : Conduct regular internal audits and security checks to maintain branch compliance and ensure readiness for external examinations.
Cash Management : Oversee the branch's cash inventory, reconcile cash differences, and ensure proper security protocols are followed.
Problem Resolution : Handle and resolve complex customer and operational issues, escalating as necessary.
2. Sales, Service, and Business Development
Customer Experience : Champion a customer-centric culture, personally handling escalated customer complaints and ensuring high service standards.
Sales Support : Support the Branch Head in executing sales strategies, achieving branch targets for deposits, loans, and other financial products.
Coaching and Referrals : Coach staff on identifying customer financial needs, cross-selling opportunities, and making effective referrals to specialist partners (e.g., mortgage, wealth management).
Lending : In some structures, process and approve consumer loans or credit applications within authorized limits.
3. Team Leadership and Development
Staff Supervision : Directly supervise and motivate tellers and personal bankers.
Training and Coaching : Lead regular huddles and training sessions focused on service quality, compliance updates, and product knowledge.
Performance Management : Participate in performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to staff development plans.
Scheduling : Manage staff scheduling, time-off requests, and workflow to ensure adequate branch coverage.
Succession Planning : Assist in identifying and developing potential leaders within the branch team.
