High school diploma or GED; vocational training or certification in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair is preferred.
2–5+ years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining heavy machinery (e.g., bulldozers, excavators, loaders, forklifts).
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, electrical systems, and braking systems.
Skilled in using hand and power tools, diagnostic software, and equipment manuals.
Familiar with OEM specifications, preventive maintenance schedules, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA).
Ability to lift heavy parts, work in varied weather conditions, and stand for long periods
