Job description

A Store Helper, also known as a Shop Assistant or Store Associate, assists with daily retail operations by providing customer service, stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, and processing transactions. Key duties include greeting customers, responding to product inquiries, restocking shelves, managing inventory, maintaining store appearance, and operating the cash register to ensure a smooth and positive shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service : Greeting customers, assisting them in finding products, answering questions about merchandise, and addressing customer complaints or issues.

Merchandise Management : Restocking shelves, organizing products, arranging displays, and notifying management when inventory levels are low.

Sales and Transactions : Operating the cash register, processing sales, and handling returns or exchanges.

Store Maintenance : Keeping the sales floor and other areas clean, tidy, and well-presented.

Inventory Control : Assisting with receiving new merchandise and conducting periodic inventory checks to report discrepancies.

Promotional Support : Helping to set up promotional displays and assisting with in-store events.

Essential Skills

Customer Service : The ability to provide excellent service, be courteous, and build positive customer relationships.

Communication : Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.

Attention to Detail : Accuracy in handling transactions and managing inventory.
