Architectural Drafter - Concept Development Specialist

Client Timezone : New Zealand (NZST / NZDT)

Total Weekly Hours : 20 Hours

Our client is seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson to support their New Zealand-based design team. In this role, you’ll transform initial floor plans into detailed concept designs and client-ready presentations, ensuring compliance with New Zealand building codes and maintaining the original design intent. This is a remote position offering the chance to work on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects while collaborating closely with an innovative architecture team.

Responsibilities

Receive initial floor plans and develop them into comprehensive concept designs.

Prepare detailed concept-stage drawings and documentation for client presentations.

Ensure all concepts comply with New Zealand building codes and regulations.

Collaborate with the local design team to maintain design integrity.

Create 3D models and detailed architectural drawings using Chief Architect.

Support projects from concept stage through to developed design and pricing phases.

Requirements

Knowledge of New Zealand building codes and regulations.

Proficiency in Chief Architect software (experience with ArchiCAD is a plus).

Experience in architectural drafting and concept development.

Understanding of residential and commercial building design principles.

Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication.

High attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret initial design intent.

Experience in remote / offshore architectural support roles preferred.

Scope of Work

Focus primarily on concept development and client presentations.

Potential to expand into technical detailing for candidates with advanced New Zealand building experience.
