Director, Innovation Enablement - GCIO (Based in Hong Kong or London) at HSBC
Join to lead the foundational innovation tools, processes and internal capabilities with a holistic strategy for talent engagement and a culture of innovation. This role will lead a team across several major jurisdictions and has significant engagement responsibility across the bank. This role may be based in Hong Kong or London.
Role purpose
We are seeking a talented candidate with an entrepreneurship mindset to join a growing team as the global director for Innovation Enablement. This is a critical role focused on enabling innovation across HSBC, including internal and external innovation events and challenges, and aligning with bank priorities and funding cycles.
Team / Group context
Group Innovation and Digital Partnerships (IDP) leads the group-wide approach to innovation, driving customer-centric growth through strategic digital partnerships, emerging technologies, enablement of innovation, and strategic pursuits. The HSBC Emerging Technology, Innovation and Ventures team focuses on emerging trends to deliver digital-first banking globally.
Key Areas Of Focus
- Leading partnerships with strategic technology providers, top innovation hubs and universities
- Delivery of common innovation platforms, capabilities, tools, and best practices
- Driving a culture of innovation through talent upskilling, innovation challenges, and external FinTech events
- Leading a group-wide patent and technology research strategy and commercialization approach
- Identifying strategic pursuits and disruptors and implementing defensive measures to protect HSBC’s future
Key Responsibilities
Common technology capabilities and platforms : Create a consistent framework, tooling, best practices and platforms for ideation and experimentation. Develop an effective ideation funnel.Address barriers to innovation : Continuously identify and resolve barriers to innovation.Intrapreneurship and Culture of Innovation : Define and implement a global strategy for talent upskilling, communities, tools, and culture of innovation practices with executive sponsorship across the bank.Internal Innovation : Enhance internal innovation impact by aligning initiatives with bank priorities and funding cycles.External FinTech and Innovation events : Strategy, sponsorship and execution in leading innovation hubs where HSBC has a strategic presence.Governance
