Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and execution-driven Associate Director of Operations to lead and scale the 1v1 basketball league in the Philippines. This role will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end tournament operations, local team coordination, cross-border collaboration with HQ, and long-term capability building across cities and grassroots communities.
This is a core leadership position, directly influencing the quality, consistency, and impact of our sports IP in one of the most passionate basketball markets in the world.
Responsibilities
Oversee the full-cycle operation of all on-ground 1v1 tournaments, from scheduling to execution across multiple cities.
Work with local teams to scout venues, manage logistics, and secure permits.Standardize game formats, safety protocols, and staff assignments across all events.Local Team & Vendor ManagementRecruit, onboard, and manage a network of local event managers, referees, MCs, content teams, and volunteers.
Establish SOPs and deliver training to ensure consistent event delivery quality.Manage contracts and relationships with venue owners, local barangays, and sponsors.Cross-functional CoordinationCollaborate with content, media, design, and product teams for livestreaming, scoring, and highlight production.
Ensure each tournament generates high-quality footage and marketing-ready stories.Budget & Calendar ManagementMaintain master tournament calendar and milestone tracker across all regions.
Own operational budgeting, cost control, and vendor payments.Proactively flag risks, delays, and propose mitigation plans.Partnership & RegulatoryBuild and maintain healthy relationships with local sports councils, officers, and other relevant bodies.
Ensure legal compliance (permits, safety, liability) across all regions.Requirements
5+ years of sports event management / grassroots sports / entertainment operations experienceExperience scaling regional or nationwide campaigns or eventsBonus : Prior experience in basketball, esports, or youth-oriented content projects in Southeast AsiaKey Skills
