Job description
  • Project Management : Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the construction site, ensuring the project is on schedule, within budget, and meets quality standards.
  • Team Supervision : Lead and supervise on-site staff, including workers, contractors, and subcontractors. Provide guidance, support, and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Health & Safety : Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to and that the site operates in compliance with local laws and industry standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols.
  • Quality Control : Monitor and inspect work to ensure it meets the required specifications and quality standards. Address any quality issues immediately and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Resource Management : Manage materials, equipment, and labor on site. Ensure that the necessary resources are available when needed and properly utilized to avoid delays.
  • Communication : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Provide regular updates on progress, milestones, and any challenges encountered.
  • Budget & Cost Control : Monitor project budgets and ensure costs are controlled. Review invoices and process payments, ensuring that the project remains within financial constraints.
  • Scheduling : Develop, update, and maintain project schedules, coordinating with various parties to ensure timely deliveries and milestones are met.
  • Problem-Solving : Address any issues or obstacles that may arise on-site, from delays to workforce or material shortages, resolving them efficiently to keep the project moving forward.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, material deliveries, work progress, and any incidents or accidents. Prepare and submit progress reports to senior management or clients.
  • Education : A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, significant on-the-job experience may be considered.
  • Experience : Several years of experience in construction or site management, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects.
  • Certifications :
  • Construction Management or Site Management certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS) are often preferred.
  • Valid first aid certification may be required.
  • A CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card is usually necessary.
