Instructional Designer (6-Month Contract)

Remote | AEST Hours (Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM Sydney Time)

6-Month Contract | Immediate Start Available

Are you a creative and detail-driven Instructional Designer who’s passionate about transforming complex information into engaging learning experiences?

Our client, a leader in their field, is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer for a 6-month remote contract. You’ll play a key role in auditing, designing, and delivering impactful training content—while working closely with subject matter experts across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a training and eLearning designer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit and restructure existing training content, SOPs, and documentation into clear, learner-focused materials.
  • Design and build eLearning modules, micro-learning, and interactive content using tools like Articulate 360 , Captivate , or similar.
  • Develop structured onboarding programs that accelerate time-to-productivity and ensure role clarity.
  • Create assessments, quizzes, and scenario-based knowledge checks to evaluate learner performance.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and team leads to ensure training aligns with business needs and compliance requirements.
  • Capture and edit instructional videos featuring tradespeople in workshop or on-site environments.
  • Continuously improve content based on learner feedback, performance data, and evolving training needs.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Educational Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience with LMS platforms such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, or Cornerstone.
  • Proficiency in tools like Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Storyline, Rise, or similar.
  • Strong video filming and editing skills.
  • Experience in designing assessments and performance evaluations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-directed, organised, and detail-oriented.
  • A creative problem solver who can translate complex content into effective learning materials.
