General Counsel and Data Privacy Officer

Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including securities laws, insurance regulations, corporate governance, contract law and other matters that may be encountered in the course of the firm’s business operations.

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and agreements, and other legal documents covering existing and / or intended business engagements of UFSI to ensure the firm’s interest are protected.
• Render legal advice or opinion on the interpretation of regulations or changes in regulations relevant to the existing and / or intended communications, business, operations, and / or other initiatives of UFS.
• Support the firm’s product and operations teams by providing legal guidance on new products, services, procedures manuals and marketing materials.
• Monitor legal cases filed for or against UFSI
• Manage engagements with external legal counsel as necessary to provide specialized legal expertise or manage complex legal matters.
• Assist in the development and implementation of corporate governance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices and legal requirements.
