Staff Backend Engineer, Content

We’re leaders in the membership space with 250,000+ active creators and over $3.5 billion paid directly to creators on our platform. Our team is building tools to optimize the creator-to-fan relationship, including native video, enhanced podcasting features, improved creation tools, and new community experiences. We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the most talented team in the Creator Economy and are looking for a Software Engineerto support our mission.

This role is based in NYC or SFand open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the Role

Our team’s mission is to make Patreon the most trusted and safest place for creators and fans to share and connect with each other.

• Lead and contribute to the design and development of new content experiences on Patreon
• Advocate for best patterns and practices in the areas of system design, performance, and testing
• Drive clarity and alignment on technical vision and direction by collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and product managers
• Advocate for engineering systems and solutions that will accelerate product development in the long-run
• Work with a fully cross functional team to define and deliver new product features
• Build a strong product-minded engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineers
