Responsible for accurately classifying goods under the Harmonized System (HS) or other tariff classification systems to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
Analyze product specifications, review legal and trade requirements, and assign the correct tariff codes to determine duties and taxes.
Compile and classify goods in accordance with the Australian Customs Tariff and relevant import regulations.
Demonstrate proven experience in tariff classification for Australian importers.
Vet and review import documentation to ensure compliance with Australian border and customs regulations.
Verify the accuracy of key import documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
Ensure all documentation aligns with Australian customs requirements and internal company compliance standards.
Qualification
With experience in using Cargowise, Expedient or similar systems.
Knowledgeable in EDI or incoterms.
Graduate of BS Customs Administration or other related courses.
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in shipments classification.
Strong knowledge of customs laws, tariff classification systems (e.g., HS Code), and trade regulations.
He / she must ensure accuracy of data entry.
