Universal Robina Corporation Sugar and Renewables La Carlota Sugar is looking for a Human Resources Associate.

The Human Resources Associate role involves assisting in various HR functions including recruitment, rewards system administration, learning and development, organizational development, performance management, labor and union relations, community and employee engagement, and employee services provision. The HR Associate collaborates closely with the Plant HR Manager and Operations / Plant Manager to ensure alignment of HR initiatives with operational objectives and goals, contributing to a productive, engaged, and high-performing workforce.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Understanding of labor laws and regulations, union relations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • HR certification is a plus.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Alignment : Assist in collaborating with HR Head Office COEs to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives tailored for the Plant. Support in ensuring consistency and effectiveness of HR programs across the organization.

Recruitment and Selection : Assist in recruitment and selection processes to attract and retain top talent.

  • Support in developing recruitment strategies to meet workforce needs and diversity goals.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies in the hiring process.

    Rewards System Administration : Administer compensation and benefits programs. Support in ensuring fairness and competitiveness of the rewards system to attract, retain, and motivate employees.

    Learning and Development : Support the development and implementation of learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies. Assist in identifying training needs and facilitating training sessions to address skill gaps and support career development.

    Organizational Development : Participate in organizational development initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Support in implementing change management strategies to support organizational growth and development.

    Performance Management : Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems to monitor employee performance and drive accountability. Provide support to managers and employees in setting performance goals and conducting performance evaluations.

    Labor and Union Relations : Support in maintaining positive labor relations, including assisting in the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements. Assist in addressing employee grievances and disputes in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Foster open communication and collaboration between management and union representatives.

    Community and Employee Engagement : Assist in developing and implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and morale. Coordinate community engagement activities to foster positive relationships with local communities. Participate in representing the company in community events and initiatives.

    Employee Services Provision : Assist in overseeing the provision of employee services, including welfare, well-being, and work-life balance initiatives. Support in implementing programs to support employee well-being and enhance work-life balance. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure facilities are well-maintained and conducive to employee productivity and safety. Provide administrative support to HR Manager and other departments as needed to facilitate smooth operations and enhance employee experience.
