Job descriptionIdentify new markets, client segments, and partnership opportunities that align with ABI’s capabilities and service offerings. Lead go-to-market initiatives for new services and ensure alignment with brand positioning. Client Relationship Management Drive client engagement strategies to ensure satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals. Lead key account planning and relationship mapping for major clients. Opportunity Management and Bidding Collaborate with the Commercial and Design Teams to develop compelling, accurate, and competitive proposals. Lead negotiations, presentations, and closing of deals with clients and partners. Market Intelligence and Branding Partner with Marketing and Communications to enhance ABI’s visibility through campaigns, client events, and public relations. Represent ABI at industry forums, exhibitions, and strategic partnership events. Leadership and Performance Management Foster collaboration with Commercial, Design, and Operations teams to ensure client solutions are integrated and competitive. Monitor team and individual performance metrics and ensure continuous improvement. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Business; Master’s degree is an advantage Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development, client management, or sales leadership within the construction, design-build, or real estate industry Proven success in securing large-scale projects and managing complex client portfolios Strong professional network within the construction and property development sectors Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills Strategic mindset with financial and commercial acumen Proficiency in MS Office and CRM or pipeline management tools Revenue Target Achievement : ≥ 100% of annual new business and renewals target attained Bid Win Rate : ≥ 30% success rate of qualified bids submitted Client Retention Rate : ≥ 90% of key accounts retained annually Pipeline Health : Maintain at least 3x the annual revenue target in qualified opportunities Strategic and results-driven leadership Strong client orientation and relationship-building capability Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills High business acumen and market insight Integrity, professionalism, and alignment with ABI’s values of Agility, Boldness, and Innovation Seniority level : Mid-Senior level Employment type : Full-time Job function : Business Development and Sales Industries : Construction

Overview
The Business Development Director is responsible for leading and executing the growth strategy of Actuate Builders, Inc. by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across construction, fit-out, and design-build markets. This role is pivotal in expanding ABI’s client base, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring the company’s sustained profitability and market presence.
The Business Development Director leads a high-performing team that translates ABI’s core strengths— agility, boldness, and innovation —into winning proposals and long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Business Development
Develop and execute ABI’s business development strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives and annual revenue targets.
Build and maintain strong, enduring relationships with clients, consultants, and developers.
Oversee the qualification, pursuit, and prioritization of project opportunities.
Track industry trends, competitor strategies, and client needs to inform business direction.
Lead, mentor, and inspire the Business Development Team to meet or exceed growth objectives.
