The Role

As a Principal Engineer you'll establish and practice high engineering standards and habits that align with SBC's overall IT standards and policies to ensure the high software quality

What we’re looking for

• Years of experience: Typically 5-8 years of experience in a similar role, leading teams of engineers in a technology or software development environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies
• Experience with a variety of programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript
• Experience with API design and development, including RESTful and SOAP web services
• Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum and Jira
• Understanding of security principles and experience implementing security controls in a software development environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team of engineers and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
