About the Role :
The General Ledger Supervisor (FA / BR / GL SEA) is responsible for assisting the Record to Report Manager (SEA, FA, BR) in supervising and coordinating General Ledger (GL) operations for Southeast Asia (SEA) countries. The role ensures timely, accurate, and seamless financial support for end-to-end GL activities, including journal entries, adjustments, profitability analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations, while upholding compliance with internal policies and regional standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee monthly financial closing activities, ensuring accurate accounting records and timely financial reporting within SLA scope for SEA countries.
- Review RTR Analysts’ work for accuracy and timeliness, ensuring compliance with company policy and / or local accounting standards.
- Review journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, adjustments, and profit & loss (P&L) analysis.
- Ensure monthly financial reports (P&L) and balance sheet reconciliations are accurate and complete.
- Collaborate closely with Country / Region stakeholders to validate accruals and ensure proper postings.
- Perform trend and analytical reviews of P&L and balance sheet schedules; respond to queries from corporate or regional offices regarding business performance.
- Monitor and ensure timely clearance of aged balance sheet items; investigate complex discrepancies and determine corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain monthly management reports, quarterly reports, and yearly statutory accounts.
- Support, coach, and motivate team members while providing timely guidance on operational issues.
- Lead and participate in continuous process improvement initiatives, ensuring updated documentation, strengthened internal controls, and enhanced team efficiency.
- Support and participate in IT system changes or enhancements affecting finance operations.
- Ensure an effective staff backup plan is in place and reviewed regularly; serve as backup when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in Record to Report (R2R) scope, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.Preferably with experience in a Global Finance Shared Services Centre or logistics industry.Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax rules, and financial reporting standards.Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English (both written and verbal).High attention to detail, excellent data analytical skills, and ability to handle high-volume transactions.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experienced with SAP or other ERP systems.A team player with strong sense of responsibility, capable of working independently under pressure and tight deadlines.Key Result Areas :
