The Role

As a Business Unit (BU) IT Principal Architect is responsible for adapting and implementing SBC's enterprise architecture guardrails to the BU architecture. Reporting directly to the respective BU Technology Heads, s/he develops the IT architecture roadmap and target state, as well as oversees the technical capabilities across the BU IT unit. S/He participates in reviews to ensure the compliance of the proposed solutions architecture to SBC standards and architecture regulations and is the contact point for all BU Solution Architecture-related activities and projects, ensuring that SLAs are met by the team members. S/He will coach, develop, mentor, and lead a team of Solution Architects who contribute to the design of the dedicated BU IT solutions in accordance with the organization's objectives.

How you'll contribute

• Develops the BU IT architecture blueprint and roadmap, executes the architecture upgradation toward the target state, and ensures the architecture's compliance with SBC-wide architecture principles, patterns and guardrails; Balances the intended architecture and the emerging ones, and is responsible for continuously evolving the architectural runway
• Develops and maintains roadmaps for all technologies, applications, and components within the SBC BU architecture landscape; Supports the BU IT Service Delivery Leads to develop architectural inputs and assist in the resolution of dependencies and resource constraints when necessary
• Contributes to aligning the solution architecture across the BU and other architecture and IT units, e.g. business, application, data, and infrastructure, and considers them as key stakeholders to develop BU solution architecture roadmaps; Serves as a technology and architecture expert of multiple business domains in banking / finance as well as a trusted advisor for architectural direction to Engineering heads and BU segment leaders

What we’re looking for

• 10 years of experience in solution architecture and technology leadership, with several years of experience in a senior management role, focusing on solution architecture and technology leadership in a banking environment.
• Professional certifications in solution architecture such as TOGAF 9 Certified, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Architecture patterns, such as Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and Cloud Native Architecture
• IT governance and compliance, such as ISO 27001 and SOC2
• Solution architecture methodologies and best practices, including TOGAF, Zachman Framework, and FEA
• Industry standards and regulations related to technology and solution architecture, such as ISO/IEC 42010, ISO/IEC 38500, and COBIT.
• Software development methodologies and best practices, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
• Programming languages and frameworks commonly used in application development, such as Java, .NET, Python, and Ruby on Rails
