Information Technology Group- Data Scientist

The IT Data and Analytics department within the IT group is in charge of defining enterprise data and data architecture, producing data models and data transformation to support analytics and reporting needs across all BDO applications.

As a Data Scientist , you will be accountable in building, tuning, supporting, and governing AI and GenAI models to help BDO turn data into insights and business decisions. Your role will be instrumental in the development of new models, continuous enhancement of existing models and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.

Role Responsibilities :

• Build predictive and prescriptive models (using machine learning, deep learning, optimization etc.) to solve business problems (e.g. product recommendation).
• Adapt Generative AI tools and large language models to contextualize for specific business use cases.
• Develop frameworks and pipeline for model performance metrics and business KPIs (key performance indicators).
• Collaborate with business owners and stakeholders to generate meaningful features and business requirements from existing data sources or seek out new data sources as necessary.
• Develop data pipelines and ETL processes and solution to support AI use cases and / or collaborate with data engineers and other stakeholders to build, enhanced, maintain data pipeline requirements.
• Contribute to AI governance and build models and monitoring tools to adhere to AI governance policies. Implement and maintain a robust feedback loop for continuous model improvement.
• Design, test, and optimize prompts for various applications, focusing on end-user engagement and task effectiveness specifically for GenAI use cases.
• Technical Skills : Proven experience in deploying and building machine learning models into production environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Spark, Docker and proficient in SQL, Postgres, and database management systems.
• Experience in NLP (Natural Language Processing) or Generative AI tools / LLMs is a strong advantage Experience with Machine Learning Frameworks.
• Analytical Skills : Problem-solving capabilities, strong analytical skills, and flexibility to be able to handle complex situations as necessary.
• Teamwork : Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an aptitude for working in cross-functional teams.
• Adaptability : Agile in adapting to change and learning new technologies.
• Attention to Detail : High level of precision in coding, debugging, and documentation
