Cost Accountant

About the Role :
We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our client’s team in Pasay City. This position is well-suited for an experienced professional who has a strong background in cost accounting and is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple financial tasks with accuracy. The position will be responsible for handling costing and pricing of the products. He / she will ensure compliance with accounting standards, and supporting overall business operations through accurate reporting.
Key responsibilities :
Cost Analysis & Reporting :
- Analyze manufacturing, production, and operational costs to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports to management, including standard costs, actual costs, and variances.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to inventory and cost accounting.
Inventory Management :
Monitor inventory levels and reconcile physical counts with system records.Ensure accurate valuation of inventory (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average) and review slow-moving or obsolete inventory.Work closely with procurement and operations teams to maintain accurate cost data.Budgeting & Forecasting :
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.Compare actual costs against budgeted / forecasted costs and analyze discrepancies.Process Improvement :
Identify opportunities to streamline cost accounting processes and improve financial controls.Support the implementation of ERP or cost accounting system enhancements.Compliance & Auditing :
Ensure compliance with GAAP (or relevant accounting standards) and company policies.Assist with internal and external audits related to cost accounting and inventory.Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Work closely with production, supply chain, and finance teams to gather cost-related data.Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies and operational decisions.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).At least 1–2 years of experience in cost accounting or general accounting.Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.Excellent MS Excel and general computer skills.Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Good organizational and time management skills.Compensation and Benefits :
