Operations Lead - Middle Mile Logistics (Yokohama)

Location : Ibaraki Osaka Prefecture

Position Overview :

Join Amazon Japans AMXL (Amazon Extra Large) team as an Operations Lead driving excellence in middle mile logistics in partnership with third-party logistics (3PL) this role you will oversee transportation efficiency between facilities ensure operational compliance and build strong relationships with trucking partners to deliver seamless network performance.

Key job responsibilities

1. 日次オペレーション管理

日々の輸送およびラインホール業務を監視管理する

トラックスケジュールやルート計画を追跡更新最適化する

キャリア運送業者からの問い合わせやオペレーション上の課題に迅速に対応する

積載計画システム内のデータ精度と整合性を維持する

2. 3PLパートナーとの協業

トラック輸送物流パートナーと定期的かつ円滑なコミュニケーションを維持する

積載計画および配車業務の実行をサポートする

パートナーと連携し輸送に関する課題の解決を支援する

3. 問題解決およびプロセス改善

輸送遅延や異常を特定し報告追跡する

キャリアのオペレーション課題に対する原因分析および解決を支援する

配送パフォーマンスをモニタリングし指標を分析報告する

必要なスキル :

基本的なデータ分析およびExcelスキルを有し輸送データを理解して簡易レポートを作成できる能力

課題解決志向を持ちオペレーション上の問題に主体的に対応できる姿勢

Key Responsibilities :

1. Daily Operations Management :

Oversee day-to-day transportation and line haul activities.

Track update and optimize truck schedules and routing plans.

Respond promptly to carrier inquiries and resolve operational issues.

Ensure data accuracy and completeness in load planning systems.

2. 3PL Partner Collaboration :

Maintain effective regular communication with trucking and logistics partners.

Support execution of load planning and dispatch operations.

Coordinate with partners to address and resolve transportation challenges.

3. Problem Solving & Process Improvement :

Identify escalate and track transportation delays or exceptions.

Assist in root cause analysis and issue resolution with carriers.

Monitor analyze and report delivery performance metrics.

Required Skills :

Proficiency in basic data analysis and Excel; ability to interpret transportation data and generate simple reports.

Strong problem-solving mindset with proactive approach to operational challenges.

A day in the life of an Operations Lead at AMXL involves ensuring smooth middle mile transportation across Amazons network. Each morning begins with reviewing truck departure reports fill rates and on-time metrics. The role requires close coordination with 3PL partners to resolve any route or scheduling issues. Throughout the day the lead monitors real-time shipment flows updates system data and supports carriers with operational guidance. Regular touchpoints with cross-functional teams help address process gaps and improve efficiency. The day ends with performance tracking and preparing action items to ensure continuous improvement and reliable delivery performance.

AMXL Japan is a fast-growing team managing end-to-end operations for heavy and bulky shipments. The Middle Mile team is a newly established function overseeing a fleet of trucks and sort centers across the network. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with on-ground operations providing a strong platform to learn and understand the full logistics flow from origin to destination. Its an excellent opportunity to build a career in a dynamic fast-paced environment and gain hands-on experience in managing large-scale logistics operations within Amazons expanding network.

• 1 years of customer-facing environment warehousing logistics or manufacturing experience
