As Director of Business Development, you will spearhead Ascott’s growth strategy in the Philippines, driving management and franchise deal signings that strengthen our market leadership. Reporting to the VP of Business Development, you will lead negotiations, build strategic partnerships, and unlock opportunities across the hospitality and real estate landscape.

This role requires a dynamic dealmaker with deep market knowledge, financial acumen, and the ability to influence stakeholders at the highest levels.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver annual development targets by sourcing, evaluating, and securing new management and franchise opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue investment and partnership opportunities that align with Ascott’s brand and portfolio strategy.
  • Lead feasibility studies, market analysis, and financial modeling to assess project viability and support investment decisions.

Deal Execution

  • Negotiate management, franchise, and technical services agreements to secure favourable terms for Ascott.
  • Prepare board papers and approval documentation to ensure smooth internal governance.
  • Partner with legal, finance, and operations teams to structure deals effectively and ensure successful execution.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, developers, and investors in the Philippines.
  • Represent Ascott at industry conferences, panels, and networking events to strengthen the brand’s visibility.
  • Serve as the key liaison between Ascott’s regional teams and local stakeholders to ensure alignment post-deal signing.
  • Lead and mentor the Philippines Business Development team, fostering a culture of responsiveness, accountability, and results.
  • Collaborate closely with the Country General Manager and other functional heads to align business objectives.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Commerce, Hospitality, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8–12 years’ experience in business development, investments, or deal-making in hospitality, real estate, or property development.
  • Proven track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing management contracts, franchises, or investment deals.
  • Strong financial modelling, market analysis, and contract negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, fluent in English and Tagalog.
  • Established network within the Philippines real estate or hospitality sector is highly advantageous.
