Job descriptionStrong organizational abilities and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately Stable emotions and a professional demeanor when interacting with people from all backgrounds A valid nursing certificate or BSN degree from an accredited college or university National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) certification Current vaccinations and a lack of communicable diseases that might endanger patients with compromised immune systems Careful attention to detail and an exacting approach to keeping charts and following care plans
Responsibilities :
- Keeping patients and their families informed about surgical procedures
- Administering medication and using medical equipment under the direction of a surgeon
- Responding to sudden changes in patients’ health and managing occasional emergencies
- Keeping good records and maintaining patients’ charts
- Using basic math skills adequate for dosage calculations
- Working with surgeons, medical / surgical nurses and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op
- Standing for long periods, lifting moderate weight and working in environments where there may be infectious material
