Role Summary

The Compliance Analyst plays an integral role in supporting our fintech's compliance and risk management framework across its forex, payments, and trade finance operations. This position ensures the organisation meets all regulatory obligations and licensing conditions under AUSTRAC, ASIC, and other relevant authorities, while maintaining robust internal controls aligned with best-practice governance standards. Working closely with the Head of Compliance and broader operations, the Compliance Analyst is expected to remain up to date on relevant regulatory developments, identifying compliance risks and exercising embedded controls to ensure adherence to laws relating to AML / CTF, sanctions, privacy, and consumer protection. The role supports compliance reviews, transaction monitoring investigations, policy maintenance, client and employee onboarding and the preparation of regulatory submissions and reports.

Key responsibilities include maintaining compliance registers and risk assessments, assisting with internal and external audits, conducting due diligence and implementing KYC processes and contributing to incident investigations and remediation activities.

The role also supports staff training and awareness initiatives, helping foster a culture of integrity and regulatory accountability across all business lines. Success in this role requires strong analytical and strong communication skills, exemplary attention to detail and a practical understanding of Australia’s financial services and AML / CTF obligations, particularly as they apply to high-volume cross- border payments and trade-related transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Review

Conduct compliance reviews and internal audits

Monitor transactions or business activities for potential risks

Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain compliance registers and records

Prepare compliance reports for management and regulators

Assist in drafting policies, SOPs, and internal guidelines

Regulatory Compliance

Assist in implementing compliance policies and procedures

Support licensing and regulatory reporting requirements

Risk & Control

Support risk assessments and control testing

Escalate compliance breaches or incidents

Assist in remediation plans

Training & Communication

Support staff training on compliance matters

Promote compliance awareness across departments

Experience

Knows how to read and write Mandarin

1–3 years experience in compliance / risk / audit / legal / financial services preferred

Experience in AML / KYC / CTF / Financial Services / Payments / FX is highly desirable
