Basic math : Proficiency in handling money, calculating costs, and balancing a cash drawer. Physical stamina : Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light merchandise.
Core responsibilities
- Customer interaction : Greet customers, answer questions about products, provide recommendations, and handle complaints.
- Sales and transactions : Process sales using cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle returns, and balance cash drawers.
- Store maintenance : Keep the sales floor clean and organized, restock shelves, and set up or maintain visual merchandising displays.
- Inventory management : Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering new items, and receive new inventory.
- Promotional support : Inform customers about promotions and special offers to encourage sales.
