The Dialysis Technician is responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining hemodialysis equipment to provide safe, high-quality treatment to patients. This role ensures safe and efficient dialysis operations, assists with machine calibration and cleaning, and works closely with nurses and medical staff. You’ll help maintain high standards for infection control and patient care while ensuring compliance with clinic protocols and schedules.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and set up dialysis machines and related equipment before each session.
- Perform pre-treatment equipment checks and ensure all safety and alarm systems are functioning properly.
- Assist nurses and physicians during dialysis procedures by monitoring patients and documenting vital signs.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis machines and treatment areas after each session.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of medical supplies and waste materials.
- Maintain accurate treatment records, equipment logs, and patient data sheets.
- Report any machine malfunctions or patient concerns to the attending nurse or physician.
- Support infection control and safety protocols in accordance with DOH and facility standards.
- Participate in regular training and quality assurance programs to enhance technical and clinical skills.
Qualifications :
College or Associate Graduate of any Allied Health-related course.At least 6 months of work experience as dialysis technician in a dialysis center or hospital setting.Must possess certificate of dialysis training.Knowledgeable in hemodialysis procedures, water treatment systems, and operation of dialysis machines, particularly Fresenius.Ability to recognize and respond to machine alarms and patient adverse reactions.Proficient in vital signs monitoring, infection control protocols, and patient care assistance.Preferably with Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.Preferably men and physically fit to assist patients and perform equipment handling duties.
