This is a remote position.
Role: Remote Graphic Designer - Social Media Manager (with Print/Signage + Prepress, CAD/Auto CAD Experience)
Industry: Signage, Large-format Print, Retail and Event Displays
Role: Part-time | 4 hours a day | 20 hours a week with potential transition to full time
VA Rate: $9-$10
We are seeking a reliable remote designer who can produce consistent, on-brand
marketing assets for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook (including ad variations), while
also supporting our print and signage workflow with strong prepress fundamentals. This is
a fast-paced role with many small jobs and regular deadlines.
A key requirement is real-world print/signage awareness: files must be accurate,
production-ready, and prepared in a way that reduces errors and rework for large-format
printing (banners, pull-up banners, decals, fabric/SEG, media walls, event and retail
signage). CAD skills are a strong advantage for layouts, basic production drawings, and collaboration with fabrication/installation teams.
Adobe Illustrator is essential. Comfort using AI-assisted design features/tools is required to speed up output while maintaining quality.
Must be familiar with:
• Remote graphic design, production-ready artwork
• Social media design: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, ads, carousels
• Print prepress: bleed, trim, safe areas, PDF export, colour basics
• Signage / large-format print: banners, pull-up banners, decals, fabric/SEG, media walls
• Adobe Illustrator (must), InDesign/Photoshop (preferred), Canva (preferred)
• CAD advantage: AutoCAD / similar (basic to intermediate)
Role Overview
This role supports two closely related Australian brands operating across print, signage,
and display solutions. Your primary output is modern, punchy social content that stays on
brand and can be produced in volume. The differentiator is production awareness: you
must understand how designs translate to large-format print and signage, and deliver files that are ready for production with minimal back-and-forth.
The ideal candidate is a practical hybrid: creative enough to make social content engaging, technical enough to avoid print/prepress errors, organised enough to manage multiple tasks at once, and proactive enough to suggest improvements and variations.
Core Responsibilities
A) Social media creative (primary)
• Design assets for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook: single-image posts, carousels,
stories (occasionally), and static ad creatives.
• Create campaign variation sets: multiple headlines/CTAs, different crops and sizes, and
A/B options where required.
• Build and maintain templates (Adobe and/or Canva) to keep output consistent and fast.
• Prepare simple mockups for approvals (realistic but quick) using supplied product
photography or approved mockup files.
• Maintain brand consistency: fonts, spacing, logo rules, layout hierarchy, and tone.
B) Print and signage artwork (production support)
• Prepare artwork for large-format print/signage applications: pull-up banners, banners,
posters, decals, window graphics, SEG/fabric, media walls, event signage, and retail
signage.
• Adapt designs to different sizes and templates while maintaining clean alignment and
readable typography.
• Supply production notes when needed (finishes, scale, safe areas, material
assumptions), based on the brief and internal standards.
• Create print-ready PDFs and package files to reduce missing links, incorrect scaling, and
low-resolution issues.
C) Prepress and file hygiene (must)
• Apply correct bleed/trim/safe area practices for print and signage.
• Use appropriate resolution and image scaling; understand when to use vector vs raster.
• Set up files correctly for output: spot colours where required, overprint awareness, and
clean layers.
• Export PDFs to agreed standards (press-quality settings) and check for common issues
before submission.
• Organise files and naming consistently (job name, size, versioning) to support fast
approvals.
D) CAD (advantage)
• Support basic layout drawings, site/space planning, or production references when
required.
• Collaborate with fabrication/installation teams by interpreting measurements and
aligning artwork to physical build constraints.
• Ability to open, review, and adjust CAD files (AutoCAD or similar) is highly regarded.

E) AI-assisted design workflow
• Use Adobe AI features and approved AI tools to speed up ideation, vector cleanup,
background removal, and content variations.
• Generate quick concept options from a brief (2-3 directions) while keeping the final
output brand-appropriate and production-safe.
• Maintain quality control: AI output must be refined, aligned to brand, and checked for
print suitability.
Deliverables and Quality Standards
What success looks like
• Speed with accuracy - quick turnaround without production errors.
• Brand discipline - consistent typography, spacing, hierarchy, tone, and logo use.
• Production-ready files - minimal rework for print/prepress; correct sizing and resolution.
• Proactive output - suggests improvements, provides options, and anticipates common
production needs.
• Social posts: single image, carousel, promo tiles, case study highlights, product CTA
posts.
• Paid social: static ads in common sizes with multiple versions/variants.
• Print-ready artwork: posters, pull-up banner art, banners, decals, window graphics,
fabric/SEG layouts.
• Approval mockups: simple product-in-use or scene mockups using approved assets.
Tools and File Standards
• Adobe Illustrator (must).
• Adobe InDesign and Photoshop (preferred).
• Canva (preferred for template systems).
• CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) - preferred.
• HubSpot (basic) - preferred.
File standards (examples)
• Clear version naming: Client_Project_Size_V01 / V02 etc.
• Package source files where relevant: include links, fonts (if licensed/allowed), and a final
PDF.
• Export press-quality PDFs with correct page size, bleed, and crop marks when required.
• Check before delivery: spelling, alignment, image resolution, and correct dimensions.
Collaboration and Workflow Expectations
• Must provide daily overlap with Australia/Sydney business hours for reviews and
handovers.
• Comfortable with same-day or next-day turnarounds for many tasks (depending on
complexity).
• Communicate clearly: ask questions early, confirm assumptions, and provide short
handover notes with each delivery.
• Accept feedback quickly and iterate without defensiveness; focus on speed and
accuracy.

understanding of real production constraints.
• Comfort working at speed with multiple small tasks and shifting priorities.
• Clear written communication in English (brief comprehension, feedback handling, and
handover notes).
• Ability to interpret dimensions, scale artwork correctly, and support layout drawings or
production references.
