Forklift Operator

1. Forklift Operation :

o Safely operate forklifts to load and unload steel products and raw materials from trucks, pallets, and storage locations.

o Transport steel items, such as coils, beams, and plates, to designated storage or shipping areas.

o Stack and organize materials in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring easy access for future handling.

2. Inventory Management :

o Assist in maintaining accurate records of inventory by scanning barcodes, updating stock levels, and reporting discrepancies.

o Ensure steel products are stored in the correct locations and that inventory is properly arranged for easy retrieval.

o Perform routine stock checks to ensure proper inventory control.

3. Safety Compliance :

o Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating forklifts, ensuring safe handling of materials to prevent accidents and injuries.

o Conduct daily safety inspections of forklifts and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.

o Ensure the work area is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards to comply with safety standards.

4. Material Handling :

o Assist with the handling of heavy steel products, ensuring that lifting, moving, and stacking is done correctly to avoid damage.

o Ensure that all steel materials are properly secured before transport to prevent accidents and product damage.

5. Collaboration with Other Teams :

o Work closely with warehouse, operations, and logistics teams to ensure smooth loading, unloading, and transportation of steel products.

o Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding material needs, inventory levels, and operational updates.

6. Reporting :

o Maintain logs of materials moved and handled, including weights, quantities, and delivery locations.

o Report any damages to steel products during handling to supervisors.

o Assist in generating reports related to inventory movement, product location, and forklift maintenance.

7. Maintenance and Housekeeping :

o Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts, including battery checks, tire inspections, and ensuring proper fluid levels.

o Ensure the forklift is clean, well-maintained, and ready for safe operation at all times.

o Help maintain a clean and orderly warehouse or yard to support an efficient and safe work environment.
