Project Manager

The responsibilities associated with the position include:

• Understand the Project deliverables and create timelines for different individuals and groups involved in the Project to make sure that the Project remain on track, i.e., within budget and schedule.
• Be familiar and aware with the goals of the Project and the responsibilities of all involved parties during the construction phase.
• Lead and guide the project execution team through integration of processes, knowledge and people to work together to focus on the essentials at the Project level during the construction phase.
• Work with the project sponsors, shareholders and stakeholders for transparency and consistency with the committed goals and deliverables, ensuring alignment of the Project objectives and results.
• Evaluate and analyze activities prior to project implementation, including consulting with management executives, project development team, O&M team and business/functional unit leaders on agreed scope of work, methodologies and financial commitment of the Project.
• Coordinate tasks by different members of the project execution team to ensure uniformity upon project completion.
• Ensure timely completion of the Project to build trust with the shareholders and project stakeholders while avoiding unnecessary conflicts and misunderstanding.
• Work within the approved budget of the Project by adequately estimating the costs and cutting unnecessary expenses.
• Manage both internal and external risks within the construction phase of the Project, which may directly or indirectly affect the outcome of the Project.
• Manage the construction of the Project in accordance with industry standards and company policies and values.
• Manage the Project budget, schedules, milestones and deliverables towards completion, including engagements with Owner’s Engineers, EPC contractor and its subcontractors, project stakeholders and other entities directly or indirectly involved during the construction phase.
• Interface with business/functional groups involved in the project (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory, HR, etc.) and use soft skills (e.g., interpersonal skills and the ability to manage people) to balance the conflicting and competing goals of project stakeholders in order to achieve consensus in terms of relevant stakeholders supporting the project decisions and actions.
• Create, maintain and adhere to the project charter and communications plans and schedules with stakeholders, including the project execution team and project sponsors.
• Proactively interact with the project execution team, O&M team, project stakeholders and other functional (enabling) groups that may impact and fulfill the various needs of the Project during the construction phase.
• Regularly report project progress and milestones to management and shareholders, including stakeholders.
• Seek ways to develop relationships that assist the project execution team in achieving the goals and objectives of the Project during the construction phase.
• Maintain a strong advocacy role within the organization.

💼 Experience:

• At least 7 years related working experience in construction project management with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget, preferably within the power sector involving power plants, transmission lines and substations
• Experience working with EPC contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, government and public sector, LGUs, local communities and senior decision makers and shareholders of the company
• Knowledgeable in structure of large-scale renewable energy and energy storage or comparable projects
• Long-distance travel and site management of team members, contractors and stakeholders

🎓 Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
• Master’s degree in Project Management (preferred but not required)
