The Supply Planning Assistant Manager supports the effective execution of supply planning operations to ensure continuous product availability across stores and commissaries. The role is primarily responsible for driving day-to-day planning excellence, weekly inventory alignment, and cross-functional coordination to prevent stockouts, control inventory levels, and improve planning accuracy.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring weekly supply planning alignment, leading category-level inventory reviews/ sweeps, escalating risks in a timely manner, and driving internal meetings with urgency. The Supply Planning Assistant Manager acts as a bridge between strategic direction and operational execution, ensuring plans are translated into consistent results.
Operational Excellence / Role-Specific Delivery
- Execute and monitor daily and weekly supply plans to ensure timely replenishment and product availability.
- Lead weekly inventory reviews per category (internally known as ‘sweep’), validating stock levels, ageing, risks, and replenishment actions.
- Ensure weekly alignment within the Supply Planning team, including demand assumptions, inventory targets, and action plans.
- Proactively identify supply risks, shortages, or excess inventory and escalate issues to the Supply Planning Manager with clear recommendations.
- Drive follow-through on agreed actions to ensure execution discipline across planning cycles.
Guest Experience (GXE) & Brand Standards
- Support consistent menu availability by preventing stockouts that impact store operations and guest experience.
- Monitor Daily 86 performance and contribute to action plans that reduce service disruptions.
- Ensure supply plans support promotions, new product introductions, and operational changes without compromising brand standards.
People Leadership & Capability Development
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to Supply Planning Officers to ensure planning accuracy and discipline.
- Coach team members on planning fundamentals, data interpretation, and issue resolution.
- Reinforce a sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability within the team.
- Act as an escalation and support point for planners during operational challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent
- Strong mathematical & analytical skills
- Proficient with forecasting systems/applications
- At least 4-6 years of experience in supply planning, demand planning, inventory management, or related fields preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-unit food service or retail supply chain environment is an advantage
- Must be willing to work onsite
