We're looking for an HS&S Manager who pairs seasoned leadership capabilities with deep technical logic. Moving beyond basic checklist monitoring, this role leads from the front to bridge the gap between complex operational processes and regulatory compliance. As a strong technical professional, you will bring strategic weight to the HS&S roadmap, ensuring all safety initiatives are practical, robust, and respected across the entire organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads and governs the implementation of plant-wide HS&S systems, ensuring all workflows align with engineering standards and legal frameworks.
- Spearheads investigations into high-risk incidents and process gaps. You will use your technical acumen to dissect machinery or operational failures and collaborate with the engineering team to deploy permanent, systemic solutions.
- Serves as the critical bridge between plant management and the floor. You will translate complex safety protocols into the practical, mechanical language used by our operators and contractors, driving accountability at all levels.
- Conducts comprehensive technical audits and risk assessments. You will manage the site’s security infrastructure, emergency response readiness, and the department’s operational budget.
- Oversees safety reporting systems to ensure all data and incident alerts are precise, providing plant leadership with clear, actionable insights to proactively mitigate risk.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an Engineering course. Preferably a Registered/Licensed Engineer who understands the mechanical and technical nuances of our site operations.
- Must be a Certified Safety Officer 4 (SO4) or hold NEBOSH/IOSH certification.
- Must have at least 5–7 years of progressive safety management experience within a large-scale industrial setting, or 10 years in a senior operational/technical role within a high-hazard , safety-intensive environment.
- Proven track record in risk management, behavioral safety, hazard recognition, and change management within an active engineering environment.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
