Why This Role is Special
Build from zero with zero constraints. This is the rare opportunity to combine startup velocity with engineering excellence - implementing Clean Architecture, modern state management, and best-in-class tooling the right way from day one. This is the role where you'll look back in 2 years and say, "I built that entire system" rather than "I maintained that feature."
You will :
- Build and extend customer-facing features for our new customer portal and onboarding journey using React and TypeScript, following established architectural patterns while contributing to their evolution and improvement
- Implement modern frontend practices including component composition patterns (compound components, custom hooks), effective state management, and comprehensive testing strategies that ensure reliable, maintainable code
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team to deliver features that directly impact customer experience, participating in technical discussions, sprint planning, and architecture decisions while learning to balance speed with sustainability
- Contribute to our engineering standards by writing well-documented components, creating Storybook stories, implementing unit and integration tests, and participating in code reviews that elevate team quality
- Grow your architectural understanding by working closely with senior engineers on system design, learning to identify and address technical debt, and progressively taking ownership of larger feature areas
You have :
2-4 years of hands-on React and TypeScript experience building production applications, with solid understanding of React hooks, component lifecycle, and TypeScript's type system for creating type-safe applicationsPractical experience with modern frontend ecosystem - you've worked with state management solutions (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query, or similar), understand the difference between server and client state, and have used modern build tools like Vite or webpack in productionFoundation in frontend best practices including responsive design, accessibility basics (ARIA, semantic HTML), performance considerations (code splitting, lazy loading), and version control workflows with GitTesting mindset and experience writing unit tests with Jest / Vitest and React Testing Library, understanding the importance of test coverage while learning to write tests that focus on behaviour over implementation detailsCollaborative engineering skills - you actively participate in code reviews, communicate technical concepts clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and are eager to both learn from others and share your knowledgeGrowth-oriented mindset - you're excited about learning architectural patterns like Clean Architecture or Feature-Sliced Design, interested in improving build tools and developer experience, and motivated to level up your technical leadership skillsBonus points for :
Experience with Next.js, TanStack Query (React Query), or StorybookFamiliarity with design systems and component librariesKnowledge of modern testing approaches (MSW for API mocking, Playwright for E2E)Experience with pnpm or Yarn workspacesContributions to team documentation or onboarding materialsSide projects demonstrating interest in frontend architecture and toolingWhat we offer for your growth :
Direct mentorship from senior engineers on architectural patterns and best practicesOwnership of meaningful features with increasing scope and complexityExposure to greenfield architecture decisions and their long-term implicationsSupport for learning new tools, technologies, and techniquesIdeal candidate profile : You're at the stage where you're comfortable building features independently but eager to deepen your architectural understanding. You've started to see patterns in frontend development and want to learn how to build systems that scale beyond individual components. You bring fresh perspectives on modern tooling while being open to learning why certain architectural decisions are made. You're beginning to mentor juniors while actively seeking mentorship yourself.
Expected progression : In this role, you'll evolve from implementing well-defined features to architecting feature areas, from following testing practices to defining testing strategies, and from participating in technical discussions to leading them. Within 12-18 months, successful candidates typically advance to senior-level responsibilities, having developed deep expertise in our architecture and becoming mentors themselves.
