Work Schedule : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM (Melbourne, Victoria Time) | 6 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM Manila Time

Our Client is seeking an Estimator to manage tender inquiries and prepare accurate cost estimates for light gauge steel framing projects across both residential and commercial sectors (including childcare centers and buildings up to 5 levels). This role requires strong technical expertise in reading plans, preparing bills of quantities, and engaging subcontractors, ensuring competitive and precise tenders. The Estimator will play a vital role in supporting project delivery and maintaining Tricon’s reputation for accuracy and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the kind of person who :

  • Review tender packages, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Conduct bill of quantities for steel framing components including walls, roofs, and floors.
  • Utilize Bluebeam or similar take-off / estimation software to prepare calculations.
  • Engage and liaise with subcontractors to obtain pricing and confirm scope inclusions.
  • Clarify technical details directly with clients to ensure accuracy of estimates.
  • Apply appropriate rates to quantities to develop cost-effective tender submissions.
  • Support project delivery by ensuring steel gauge requirements and material usage are precise.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize cost and material use without compromising quality.

Requirements

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or Construction Management (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in estimation, cost planning, or quantity surveying.
  • Strong background in steel framing projects (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam or similar digital take-off software (preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
  • Core Skills & Attributes

  • Attention to detail (non-negotiable) – accurate assessment of gauges and dimensions.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to liaise with clients and subcontractors.
  • Analytical skills to produce accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders within tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills for documentation and tender management.
