Job Highlights

Contract : Independent Contractor

Schedule : Mondays to Fridays, 9 : 00 am to 5 : 30 pm, UK time

Job Summary

The E-commerce Assistant will support the E-commerce Manager by handling the day- to-day operations of the company's Shopify websites. This role focuses on executing tasks such as product updates, website maintenance, and ensuring seamless shopping experience for customers. The E-commerce Assistant will also work closely with other team members to implement marketing campaigns and optimize website performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Website Maintenance :

  • Update and maintain product listings, including descriptions, images, and  pricing.
  • Ensure websites are fully functional, resolving any technical or content issues promptly.
  • Monitor website inventory and coordinate with production to avoid stock issues.

2. Content Management :

  • Upload and schedule banners, promotions, and campaigns in  collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Assist in creating and optimizing on-site content, including SEO enhancements.
  • 3. Order Management Support :

  • Monitor online orders, ensuring they are processed efficiently and  dispatched on time.
  • Coordinate with customer support teams to resolve any order-related issues.
  • 4. Performance Monitoring :

  • Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Shopify reports) to track  website performance metrics like traffic and conversion rates.
  • Provide regular updates to the E-commerce Manager on website performance and tasks completed.
  • 5. Customer Experience :

  • Assist in improving the overall shopping experience by regularly reviewing  site functionality and usability.
  • Implement feedback from customers and the team to enhance website quality.
  • 6. Collaboration :

  • Work closely with the Creative and Marketing teams to ensure content  and campaigns are aligned with the brand strategy.
  • Support the E-commerce Manager on larger projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

  • Timely and accurate product updates.
  • Website uptime and functionality.
  • Contribution to conversion rate improvements.
  • Efficient resolution of website or order-related issues.
  • Requirements

  • Proven experience in an e-commerce or retail environment, ideally in a support or administrative role.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, with a strong preference for experience using Shopify.
  • Experience with website content management and product information management (PIM) systems.
  • Background in digital marketing, specifically with content creation, is a plus.
  • Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in managing and updating product listings, including descriptions, images, and pricing.
  • Experience with Google Analytics or similar web analytics tools to track and report on key metrics like traffic and conversion rates.
  • Familiarity with basic SEO principles for on-site content optimization.
  • Competency with order processing and inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency in standard business software and tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
