Job description

I. Role Summary

The Operations General Manager : Mindanao will oversee all plantation operations in the Northern Mindanao area. Presently these operations encompass two projects :

  • Patchouli Contract Grower and Distillation Activities : operation of patchouli mother stock plantation(s), contract growers, and distillation activities.
  • Agarwood Nursery and Plantation Activities : establishment and operation of large-scale - and expanding - plantations of Agarwood and their associated nursery activities.

The role requires a strong leader who can manage and motivate skilled teams, ensure operational efficiency, and deliver high standards of agricultural and distillation practices aligned with company goals.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of plantation sites, including nursery and field activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of contract grower activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of post-harvest, distillation, and quality control activities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operations.
  • Supervise and lead plantation and distillation teams, ensuring clear roles, accountability, and productivity.
  • Coordinate resource allocation including manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Develop operational strategies to maximize plantation productivity and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical consultants to improve production practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and labor regulations.
  • Stakeholder management : workers, local community, contract growers, government and other authorities.
  • Prepare and present operational and financial reports to management.
  • Other matters as deemed appropriate to the role.

    • III. Skills and Qualities Desired

  • Proven experience managing large-scale plantations and agricultural projects.
  • Knowledge of post-harvest industrial processing is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in nursery and plantation management, particularly for high-value crops and export-orientated enterprises.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing and motivating diverse teams.
  • Solid understanding of agricultural sustainability practices.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Keen intellect and willingness to learn.

    • IV. Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Forestry, or related field.
  • Master’s degree is an advantage. Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in plantation operations and / or agricultural processing and manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • With agricultural technical expertise.
  • Willingness to be based in plantation sites within the Bukidnon or Cagayan de Oro areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
