Senior Software Engineer - Lead

Job Overview:

This position will focus on projects that help our customers address their online privacy challenges. You will be responsible for designing and implementing performance and scalable products that help our customers discover their privacy data and assess the relevant risks. Your architectural knowledge and experience will help improve the reliability and efficiency of our core technologies and to design and build next generation platforms and web applications. You will use your deep technical experience to work with and mentor other engineers. Your technical judgement and experience will help you to solve complex issues with elegant designs to deliver products on time to meet market demand while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Responsibilities:

• Perform system specification, design and implementation, or similar tasks related to the area of specialization.
• Anticipate customer needs & find alternative solutions
• Shares knowledge within own area of expertise; supports and guides others.
• Analyses and improves current ways of working.
• Investigate and trouble-shoot SW faults independently.
• Participates in gathering requirements; Identifying and evaluating requirement sources.
• Deals with complex and demanding issues in SW development
• Designing and implementing RESTful Enterprise platforms using JVM software (Java, Scala).
• Designing and implementing relational schema in a Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent SQL database.
• Debugging application/system errors on development, QA, and production systems.
• Designing testing infrastructures and implementing unit tests using the Junit (or equivalent) framework.
• Coach other software engineers and conduct 1-1 meetings with assigned team members to improve overall team performance.

Requirements:

• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related field; and
• 7-10 years as a Software Engineer writing code with some years leading a team of software engineers.
• Understands architecture, design patterns and the use of frameworks.
• Can explain and present complex solutions. Can lead one software development team or a team to investigate and trouble-shoot SW faults. Can partially act as Architect role when/if needed.
• Design and implementation of code with Java Middleware (e.g., Hibernate, Spring).
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS.
• Use of software engineering best practices
• Design documentation and review
• Code reviews
• Technical leadership of an engineering team to build, deploy, and support a reliable, performant and scalable RESTful platform
