Material Scrap Handler

Responsible for safely sorting, moving, and preparing scrap materials, which can include operating specialized machinery like a scrap handler machine or machinery for baling and separating fluids. Key duties include loading and unloading materials, using equipment to compress or separate scrap, and maintaining accurate records of material types and quantities. This role often requires attention to safety protocols and physical strength for handling materials and operating equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• High school diploma or GED is often preferred.
• 1-2 years in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is a plus, but on-the-job training is often provided.
• Experience operating material handling equipment is beneficial, and a forklift certification is a plus.
• Basic computer skills are needed for inventory management systems and record-keeping.
• Strong basic math and organizational skills are essential.
