This is a remote position.

Work Schedule : We are flexible on this, but ideally would be required Mondays, Wednesday & Fridays.

Job Description

You’ll be the financial backbone for a specialized design company where your construction industry expertise will be truly valued and essential. This isn’t your typical bookkeeping role – you’ll apply advanced knowledge of work-in-progress accounting, deposit management, and project-based financial tracking that most accountants don’t understand. You’ll work with a team that appreciates the nuances of construction accounting and needs someone who can handle the sophisticated financial workflows that drive their growing business.

Responsibilities :

• Manage complex work-in-progress accounting for multi-week construction projects
• Process customer deposits correctly as short-term liabilities rather than immediate revenue
• Track project-based purchasing and expenses throughout 6-8 week project lifecycles
• Create precise journal entries moving costs from balance sheet to P&L as projects progress
• Handle invoicing and payment processing for ongoing construction projects
• Maintain accurate financial records using Zoho Books accounting software
• Support project cost analysis and financial reporting for management decisions
• Ensure UK VAT compliance specific to construction industry requirements
