GIS Developer

The GIS Developer III is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications for internal and external clients.

Key responsibilities include analyzing requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, creating technical designs, evaluating tools and platforms, and ensuring proper documentation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : Design and Development Designs, develops, and implements GIS applications to deliver custom web-based mapping tools and spatial data solutions.

Integrates GIS technologies with enterprise systems to enhance data accessibility and interoperability.

Builds and maintains geoprocessing tools and automation routines to streamline and optimize GIS workflows.

System Enhancement and Maintenance Maintains, optimizes, and enhances existing GIS applications to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.

Researches and implements emerging GIS technologies and best practices to improve system capabilities and development standards.

Data Analysis and Visualization Performs advanced spatial data analysis to support data-driven decision-making and effective data management.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and deliver GIS solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.

Testing and Quality Assurance Prepares system design specifications and develop prototypes or storyboards to align solutions with approved requirements.

Conducts unit testing and debug code to ensure functionality, resolve errors, and eliminate security vulnerabilities.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing Participates in code walkthroughs and provide technical training to support peer development and maintain coding consistency across the team.

Assists in identifying potential issues and recommend solutions for continuous improvement.

Technical Support and Documentation Provides technical support and user training by troubleshooting issues and responding to service requests to ensure effective system use.

Develops and maintains technical documentation to support system maintenance and knowledge sharing.

Other Responsibilities Ensures compliance to company rules and regulations Reports security incidents and / or any identified security weaknesses QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelors Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geomatics, or a related field.

At least 3 years of experience in GIS application development and software engineering.

1 year or more of relevant and related experience in BPO industry is an advantage.
