MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST
Job summary : The merchandising specialist is responsible for the achievement of the department’s operational objectives with respect to Merchandising, Product Sourcing and Development, and coordination in relation to the importation of merchandise requirements.
Job responsibilities :
Importation & Negotiations :
- Communicates and negotiates with the agent / suppliers’ queries for existing and / or new products as required by the Corporate Sales group.
Order processing :
Prepares all importation requests as per confirmed Order Sheet for approval by higher management and eventual processing with the respective departments.Order monitoring :
Monitors and follow up all incoming order shipments with the agent / suppliers and the purchasing department with regards to consolidation of priority orders, expected arrival at port of destination and to final destination.Reportorial requirements :
Prepares all importation summaries and other pertinent date with respect to incoming orders.Prepares advisory information sheets / flyers for posting to all concerned of incoming shipments as to expected arrival at warehouse, quantities and other pertinent details.Brand management :
Prepares reports, summaries, data relative to the respective product categories in as far as sales per month, sales per product category, sales per account executive, sales versus budget, and other pertinent data in line with the annual marketing plans and programs.Monitors sales of new products and evaluates its performance.Surveys the market on existing trends in terms of features, price, design / styles functions, in order to recommend any future new merchandise with the coordination of the Corporate Sales group.Pricing :
Monitors and analyzes pricing with respect to competition, its price competitiveness, positioning within assigned categories and continuously identify opportunities for enhancing margins and profits thru price adjustments or product changes.Updates costs of regular SKUs / Raw materials every two (2) months or whenever market conditions change due to foreign currency movements, raw materials price inreases / decreases, and / or other import related factors.Marketing communication :
Handles marketing communication mediums (website and social media accounts, corporate giveaways) applicable to the respective product categories.Job qualifications :
Graduate course in Industrial Engineering / marketing / business adminWork experience for a minimum of 1-2 yearsKnowledgeable in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint – computer literateGood communication skills- English especiallyBasic technical knowledge (an advantage but not necessary) i.e : measurements reading, technical infoWilling to learn and keen to detailsWith design senseWilling to work in Sauyo, Novaliches QC (near Mindanao Ave)
