Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Director to oversee and elevate the performance of multiple software development projects and engineering teams. This role is ideal for a technically adept leader with a strong background in system design, hands‑on software development, and coaching engineers toward excellence in a fast‑paced, startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Project Oversight: Own the success of 5–10 client projects , ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
• Technical Supervision: Guide the technical architecture of each project, making sure engineering teams are building the right solutions the right way.
• Team Management: Directly manage and support a team of 10–20 engineers , working on different client projects. Identify performance gaps, provide coaching, and promote growth.
• Reporting: Communicate project health and engineering performance to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong project management skills with experience in using project management tools like Linear
• Proficiency in Typescript and React, with a solid understanding of software architecture and design principles
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a results‑driven approach to software development
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving project objectives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a hybrid work environment

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with design tools like Figma, enhancing collaboration between the development and design teams
• Experience with Python, adding versatility to your technical skill set and contributing to projects requiring a broader range of technologies
