Job Overview : The Systems Advisor / Systems Implementation Consultant plays a key advisory role in driving the successful implementation, adoption, and optimisation of operational and financial systems for multiple clients. Acting as a trusted consultant, this role leads client-facing discussions to understand business workflows, guide system configuration, and deliver strategic recommendations that enhance operational efficiency. The Systems Advisor takes an active role in project delivery—facilitating workshops, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing consultancy to ensure clients achieve measurable outcomes through effective use of technology.
Key Responsibilities :
Client Advisory & Consultation
- Lead client-facing sessions to understand business processes, challenges, and objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on system setup, workflow design, and process improvements.
- Facilitate workshops, demonstrations, and training sessions to support effective system use and adoption.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and offering tailored recommendations.
System Planning & Implementation
Collaborate with stakeholders to scope requirements, define implementation strategies, and align system design with business goals.Oversee system configuration, data migration, and integration activities to ensure a smooth transition.Manage project timelines and coordinate deliverables to meet client and internal milestones.Workflow & System Optimization
Analyze and document current financial and operational workflows, identifying inefficiencies and recommending system-driven enhancements.Implement process improvements that enhance productivity, data accuracy, and reporting capability.Ensure all configurations and workflows adhere to best practices and support strategic business outcomes.Training & Change Management :
Develop and deliver structured training programs for end users to build capability and confidence in system use.Support change management initiatives by helping teams adapt to new tools and ways of working.Provide clear and accessible documentation, user guides, and reference materials.Reporting & Support :
Create reports and dashboards to provide insights into project progress and business performance.Provide ongoing technical and functional support to clients post-implementation.Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve complex issues and continuously improve system performance.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Commerce, or a related field.Background in business operations, ethics, consulting, or systems management with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Minimum of three years’ experience in system implementation, business consulting, or operational improvement (preferably within Australia).Sound understanding of business processes, workflow management, and technology-enabled transformation.Demonstrated ability to lead client discussions and translate business needs into actionable system solutions.Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred Skills :
Experience with job management and financial software such as WorkflowMax, WorkGuru, or Fathom preferred. Xero experience is highly advantageous.Project management and workshop facilitation experience.Strong analytical mindset with the ability to recommend and implement practical workflow improvements.Benefits
