Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain departmental rules for guiding staff performance.
• Ensure all employees are fully familiar with and strictly adhere to hotel policies relating to fire, safety, hygiene and health.
• Develop engineering strategic plan with assistance of local management team.
• Maintain all equipment in good condition.
• Maintain all Technical Staff at high morale.
• Prepare staff roster and organise shifts to ensure appropriate staffing.
• Maintain work attendance records for payroll purposes.
• Organise training for Junior Staff.
• Allocate daily work orders and supervise progress.
• Share responsibility with DoE for supervision of outside contractors working in the hotel.
• Supervise water treatment operation and monitor tests.
• Record data on a daily or other periodical basis for control purposes.
• Supervise established guidelines and systems to ensure the most efficient operation at the most economical cost.
• Prepare, with Chief Engineer, departmental budgets and monitor progress to contain costs.
• Promote a high level of interaction with other departments to enhance guest satisfaction.
• Conduct daily rounds of the hotel back of the house and public areas, checking every outlet for deficiencies and raising maintenance requests accordingly.
• Instruct and assist Plant Supervisor in chemical testing of all water systems and advise on proper remedial action.
• Approve the monthly shift system.
