As part of the drafting team, you will play a key role in our production process by producing detailed 3D shop drawings for approvals and direct use on the workshop floor. You will work closely with management and various departments to complete projects accurately and on time. Your drawings will be used to generate cutting lists and programming instructions for production. This role requires professional collaboration across departments and effective communication to ensure high-quality results for the business and clients.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the kind of person who :
- Produce Accurate 3D Shop Drawings : Create detailed joinery drawings in Pytha for both rollout projects (POS, shopfronts, fitting rooms) and custom, high-detail joinery.
- Generate CNC-Ready Files : Prepare cutting lists and programming instructions for CNC machines, ensuring files are accurate and production-ready.
- Collaborate Across Teams : Work closely with estimators, procurement, and project managers to clarify requirements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure drawings align with project specifications.
- Support Rollout & Custom Projects : Start with standard rollout drafting and progressively handle more complex custom joinery items, ensuring all designs are optimized for production efficiency.
- Ensure Compliance & Standards : Deliver drawings according to company quality standards, Australian Building Codes, and client brand specifications.
- Workflow & Job Management : Manage drafting timelines to meet production schedules, attend regular production meetings, and provide updates on progress.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify and suggest improvements to drafting processes, CNC integration, and production workflows.
- Safety & Compliance : Adhere to all company safety, governance, and compliance policies, maintaining duty of care for yourself and others.

Experience in drafting or a related technical fieldProficient in producing accurate shop drawings or technical drawingsDemonstrable experience using Pytha Software (desirable); can transition from Microvellum with training.Knowledge of general drafting principles, practices, and industry standardsAbility to read and interpret drawings, plans, and schedulesFamiliarity with common production or manufacturing processesCompetent with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookOther Skills, Knowledge, Attributes and Personal Qualities

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have : A minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting is required for the position. Preferably had experience in precast concrete industry. In-depth understanding of steels moulds and precast concrete Experienced in creating CAD drawings from quotes, architectural documents, hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits. Demonstrable experience with MS Office, cloud technology and digital solutions. Experience using Inventor Software and AutoCAD 2004 or greater. Working knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g., CRM software) and telephone system.
