Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team! As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for data preparation jobs, data analysis and data reporting. You will be responsible for performing technical troubleshooting and providing technical expertise for ETL jobs.
The job role might also require you to learn new tools and technologies fast, and you should have in-depth database knowledge as well as basic programming and scripting skills. You will help to build efficient and stable data pipelines which can be easily maintained in the future. You should have expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets and databases.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing ETL processes
- Developing and maintaining integration tools and utilities
- Design table structures, developing stored procedures, views, etc and troubleshooting issues across different applications
- Develop, maintain and troubleshoot SSRS reports
- Performing root cause analysis and providing recommendations for resolution
- Design, implement, and continuously expand data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading activities
- Gather requirements and business process knowledge in order to transform the data in a way that’s geared towards the needs of end users
- Maintain and improve already existing processes
- Ensure that the data architecture is scalable and maintainable
- Work with the business in designing and delivering correct, high quality data
- Investigate data to identify potential issues within ETL pipelines, notify end-users and propose adequate solutions
- Prepare documentation for further reference
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in ETL development
- Knowledge of ETL concepts, tools and data structures
- Ability to perform complex data analysis and troubleshooting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Expert level SQL knowledge (query performance tuning, index maintenance, etc.) as well as an understanding of database structure and good design practices
- Knowledge of at least one ETL tool (SSIS, CloverDX, Informatica, etc.)
- Knowledge of various SQL data storage mechanisms and Big Data technologies a plus
- Passionate about complex data structures and problem solving
- Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly
- Experience parsing, scripting data from text based or non-uniform data sets.
- Preferred:
- Linux and shell scripting a strong plus
- Expert level CloverDX experience, graphs, subgraphs, Job flows, scripting, etc.
- 7+ years experience working with complex SQL, procedures and ETL data projects
- Able to work with unstructured data files
