Work Schedule : 8 : 00AM to 5 : 00PM (AEST) | 6 : 00AM to 3 : 00PM (PH)

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively across all levels of a project. In addition to the normal roles and responsibilities of an estimator you will also have the opportunity to assist and gain experience in Contracts Administration duties guided by a Project Manager and involving supporting the Project Team in the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

What You'll Do :

You'll be the kind of person who :

  • Review Project Documentation : Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Tender Preparation : Prepare and submit competitive tenders, including pricing and documentation and trade specific scope of works that you will have developed.
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison : Obtain & evaluate quotes and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Cost Planning & Budgeting : Develop accurate cost estimates for construction projects during all phases (concept, design, tender, and construction).
  • Risk Assessment : Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project scope and pricing.
  • Market Analysis : Stay updated on market rates, material costs, and labour trends.
  • Value Engineering : Propose cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Bid Strategy : Assist in developing strategies for winning bids and negotiating contracts.
  • Quantity Take-offs : Measure and quantify materials, labour, and equipment needed.
  • Cost Breakdown : Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for each component of the project.
  • Estimate Revisions : Update estimates based on design changes, scope adjustments, or market fluctuations.
  • Compliance : Ensure estimates align with building codes, regulations, and client requirements.
  • Post-Tender Analysis : Review project outcomes to refine future estimating practices.
  • Reporting : Provide regular cost reports and updates to stakeholders.
  • Contract Administration Duties : Assist with high-level contract administration tasks such as reviewing scopes, preparing subcontractor packages, assessing variations, and supporting progress claim evaluations.

Requirements

What You Bring :

We're looking for someone who :

  • Minimum 3 years’ proven local experience as an Estimator in the new build, commercial, retail, fit-out, or refurbishment sector.
  • Tertiary qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and scopes of work.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills set to be a future leader.
  • Good understanding of local building rates and costs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Buildxact, etc.).

    Requirements

    Requirements / Skills Needed : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in estimation, project costing, or a similar role. Proficiency in AroFlo CRM, and Groundplan software. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Strong understanding of Australian construction practices and regulatory standards. Speak English well. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in reviewing plans and documentation. Strong IT skills with the ability to learn and adapt to various tools and systems.
